To tell the truth, I planned on having Leonardo out of the picture for a little while longer, but then again, since Michelangelo's story arc was over, it was the perfect moment to reintroduce Leo and start his story arc, which is actually _the_ main storyline, along with that of Donnie.
Not to say that Michelangelo's story arc was insignificant, but it was lot of character driven without bringing much to the table in terms of continuation for the cursed katana.
