MNT Gaiden Chapter 1

17 years after the prologue, the main story starts.
All the turtles are 34 years old, grew up apart and changed, mostly for the worse.
Basically, they are no longer teens, so they are MNTs.

In this first chapter, I throw in Renoir, a new turtle.
It was a risky move since going beyond the original 4 turtles is kind of controversial, but in retrospective, I think I did my job well: he's not too Mary-Sue-ish.

Instead of making him the subject of unconditional positive attention from the old TMNT and giving him all the skills he needs to be a competent and capable character, I did the complete opposite.
Renoir is a womanizer, a big whiner, a self-centered narcissistic teen, a worthless and lousy fighter (like most of us non-ninjas, lol) and most importantly, he doesn't want to be with the old TMNT at all.
And the old TMNTs? They don't care about him as much as they care about their own problems and their conflicts between each other (the one person who cares about Renoir doesn't have good intentions).

As for the girls you see at the beginning of the chapters, one is Shadow Jones, who already exists in the official Mirage comics, and Davianna Wallace, an OC Japanese girl adopted by a couple from New York.
Shadow fights crime just like her father.
As for Davianna... well, she'll be trouble in later chapters. Damsel in distress. :\

This chapter was drawn back in 2004-2005, but I retouched it and added screentones last year to make it look prettier.
